The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are autonomous public technical universities across the India. IITs are governed by the Institutes of technology, Act 1961, officially declared as the “Institutes of National Importance” since 1961. The Minister of Education is the ex officio Chairperson of the IIT Council. Aspirants need to pass the JEE Advanced and GATE respectively to get admission into these institutions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Indian Institute of Technology – Madras:
IIT Madras is located in Chennai. The institute was founded in 1959 by the Government of India with assistance from the Government of West Germany. Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi:
