What is ChatGPT? How it works?

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by San Francisco based startup company OpenAI.

OpenAI was co-founded by Elon Musk in 2015 with Sam Altman and backed by well known investors. OpenAI previously also launched DALL E2 and Wispher AI.

ChatGPT was launched as a prototype on November 30th, 2022 and quickly at attention from people by getting accurate response and getting popular day-by-day in the artificial intelligence world.

ChatGPT is one of the examples of generative AI created by OpenAI. This tool allows users to enter written prompts and receive the answers with text or images and videos generated by AI. ChatGPT is initially launched as the free service to the public and later plans to monetize the service.

ChatGPT is based on GPT-3, the third model of natural language processing project. The technology uses GPT-3 architecture and it is a large-scale language model. It is a transformer based neural network that provides accurate answers and data with human writing patterns.

ChatGPT is getting more popular as it becomes the fastest consumer application to reach 100 million users in just 2 months. The chatbot signed up by 1 million in the five days after its release.

It took Tiktok nine months to reach 100 million users, Instagram two and half years to reach 100 million users.

According to the data from the Similarweb, the website getting more than 25 million daily visitors in January 2023.

The technology giant Microsoft invested $1 billion into an AI startup in 2019 and now invests around $10 billion on ChatGPT. Microsoft had incorporated some of OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 language technologies into Bing. With the partnership, Microsoft launched a preview version of Microsoft Bing marketed as “the new Bing” advertising as a “a new, next-generation OpenAI large language model that is more powerful for search”.

How much does ChatGPT costs?

ChatGPT is currently free. OpenAI launched ChatGPT as a research preview prototype. On February 1st, OpenAI also launched a premium version of $20 a month released in the United States which offers the subscribers a priority access.

OpenAI and Microsoft plans to release an API (application programming interface), which allowing the companies to integrate the technology into their AI products and backend solutions.

How companies are going to use ChatGPT?

Many media companies and publishers are going to use ChatGPT as the generation of content, quizzes and articles. Many institutions and colleges blocked access to the service to restrict from cheating, while other encouraging students are using the tool ethically.

The companies that works with artificial intelligence can also use ChatGPT and its API to make AI based products.
