Tesla Motors an American electric cars manufacturer based in Palo Alto, California and one of the biggest company in the automobile industry around the world. Founded in July 2003 and the company’s name is a tribute to inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla.

Elon Musk served as CEO since 2008 and now the main face of the company after funding in the early days. The company is currently the best selling plug-in and battery electric car manufacturer in the world. Tesla Motors exports cars to over 30 countries started with Roadster model in 2008 and now launched various models including Model S, Model X, Model Y, Model 3, Cybertruck, etc. Tesla also launched its Autopilot driving assistance system.

Tesla Motors decided to entering into the Indian market as the consumers has so much demand of Tesla in the Indian market. Elon Musk had indicated the company the coming to India on Twitter. The company, registered as Tesla Motors India & Energy Pvt. Ltd. This announcement officially marks Tesla’s India entry in the state of Karnataka. The chief minister of Karnataka, B S Yediyurappa also tweeted and welcoming the Tesla Motors to India.

Nitin Gadkari, The Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, announced that, Tesla will be launching their cars in India for sale in 2021.

Upcoming Tesla Cars in India

Tesla is expected to launch its cars in India in the year 2021-2022. Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, Tesla Model Y, are launching soon in India with an estimated price of around Rs. 60 Lakh to Rs. 2 Crore.
