As a part of the trade agreement between India and United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will open its first branch outside India in the UAE.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are autonomous public technical universities across India. IITs are one of the prestigious institutes and known for its great educational environment, quality education and world class facilities.

The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between the India and the UAE will lead the beginning of a new era of joint strategic cooperation across all sectors.
India and UAE promoting the world class institutions by establish IIT will support students and help in field of engineering and technology, innovation and technological progress.
The agreement was signed following a virtual summit to increase trade and investment between both countries to progress an economy. The summit was attended by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Confirming the historical relations existing between the two countries and realizing the need to established world class institutions that encourage and support innovation and technological progress, the leaders agreed to establish an Indian Institute of Technology in the United Arab Emirates.”, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
India currently has 23 IITs that provide quality world class education which are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 and offers programs such as undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral programs.
