The new Tesla Cybertruck: Overview, Power, Torque, Speed & More

The new Tesla Cybertruck is an all-electric battery-powered light commercial vehicle in develop by Tesla, Inc. Tesla launched three models of Cybertruck Single Motor RWD, Dual Motor AWD and Tri Motor AWD.

Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made for ultimate durability and passenger protection designed for superior strength and endurance, from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structural skin to Tesla armor glass. The amour glass made with ultra-strong glass and polymer-layered composite can absorb and redirect impact force for improved performance and damage tolerance.

The truck will use self-leveling suspension which compensates for variable load and some models will have all wheel drive. Other standard features include on-board power inverters for supplying both 120 and 240 volt electricity, allowing use of power tools without a portable generator. The range of the Cybertruck varies from 250-500 miles (400-800 km), depending on the model and configuration selections. The bed of the truck is 6.5 feet long and similar to a conventional pickup truck bed with tailgate. It includes a 17-inch center display, 6 seating by using two bench seats with the front middle seat being a fold-down center arm rest. The earlier design concepts for Cybertruck had included using titanium for the outer panels, but it was later switched to stainless steel for the additional strength.

The Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled at the Tesla Design Studio on dated 21st November 2019 in Los Angeles. At the time of presentation, Elon Musk demonstrated about the power and durability of Cybertruck and its material. Despite a successful drop tests and a successful pre-show test, the window were damaged during the test at the show. The chief designer Franz von Holzhausen explained that the windows were damaged because the sledgehammer’s impact on the door cracked the base of the glass.

As of November 2019, Tesla Cybertruck production was scheduled to start in late 2021 and expand to offer more configurations in 2022. On 24 November 2019, Elon Musk tweeted that Tesla had received over 146,000 pre-orders in just less than two days after unveiling and the number reached 250,000 on dated 27 November 2019.

Tesla Cybertruck launched all three models with a single-motor variant that should give speed of 250 miles of range, a dual-motor model with 300 miles of range and a tri-motor edition with 500 miles of range. The models are priced at between $39,900 on the low end and $69,900 at the top of the range. There is no doubt about Tesla Cybertruck is impressive with power and its unique design. It is a massive pickup truck.

On November 25, Elon musk posted a video on Twitter shows that Tesla Cybertruck pulling a Ford F-150 uphill. The Ford F-150 is one of the most powerful pickup trucks around.

Tesla Cybertruck has more power and an electric truck has an exoskeleton frame with ultra-hard 30x cold-rolled stainless-steel outer skin. The Cybertruck uses unibody construction (exoskeleton body). The body on frame construction is as standard vehicle frame with the under floor battery pack. It uses 3mm thick 30x-series cold rolled stainless steel body panels, which cannot be stamped or dented like other automobiles.
